The Ascension Course
​• is paved
• is 1/2 mile down, 1/2 mile up
• contains a Hill that is 160 feet high
• has an out-and-back configuration
• has a fastest known ascent of 3 minutes and 10 seconds (Strava)
• has a mean grade of 7.1%
• has Haven Stations providing Aid and Assistance at Start/Finish and the Turnaround point
• will be shared with the 5K race from 9:15-10 AM
• will be restricted to foot traffic only
• comprises 7 mini-hills and 6 flat stretches
• has steep drop-offs on the west side of the pavement in stretches
• will be continuously monitored by Volunteers and trained Medical Professionals
• is not the Steepest Hill in Cincinnati
• is safe to run, provided you use common sense
• can easily be completed within 15 minutes by someone with reasonable fitness, but
• has never been completed 12 times in a row...yet​​
